Question 1

How do I start a project with SILKDEV?

Accepted Answer

Fill in the project request form . It takes a few minutes, and you can pick one or several services and describe anything custom. We reply within 24 hours. Once you've sent it, sign in to the client portal with the same email and your request is already there. Every next step happens in the portal: scoping, quote, then the project itself.

Question 2

Do I need a detailed specification before contacting you?

Accepted Answer

No. A clear description of the problem you want solved is enough to start. Turning an idea into a precise scope is part of our job: we ask the right questions, challenge what isn't needed, and come back with a plan you can approve. If you do have a spec, designs or examples you like, send them. It speeds things up.

Question 3

Can I combine several services in one project?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and most projects do. A new website with an AI support agent, or a design refresh plus workflow automation, for example. You select every service you need in the request form, and we merge them into one project with a single timeline.

Question 4

Do you work with small businesses and early-stage startups?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our clients range from Tunisian SMBs taking their first serious step online to international founders building a new product. We shape the scope to your stage and budget: we would rather ship a focused first version that works than an oversized project that stalls.

Question 5

How much does a project cost?

Accepted Answer

Every project is scoped individually. Tell us what you're building and we'll come back with a fixed-price quote: no public price list, no surprises. Here's how to think about the price: you don't want the cheapest parachute, and you don't want the cheapest surgeon. You want the one who does the job right the first time. A cheap site that has to be rebuilt always ends up costing more. For market benchmarks, see our guides on website costs in Tunisia and AI agent costs .

Question 6

Why don't you publish prices?

Accepted Answer

Because two projects with the same name rarely have the same scope. A "website" can be five pages or a platform with accounts and payments. A public price list either overcharges simple projects or hides extras in complex ones. A fixed quote based on your actual needs is fairer for both sides.

Question 7

What's included in the quote?

Accepted Answer

The quote lists exactly what will be delivered, the delivery stages and the timeline. Depending on the project, that covers design, development, content integration, testing, launch, and our 30-day post-launch warranty. Anything not listed, such as a monthly maintenance plan, is clearly marked as optional.

Question 8

What if my needs change during the project?

Accepted Answer

They often do, and that's fine. Minor adjustments are included in the feedback rounds. Larger changes that affect scope are quoted separately before any work starts, so the price never changes without your approval.

Question 9

How long does it take to build a website?

Accepted Answer

Typical timelines depend on the project scope: Showcase site (5 pages): 2–3 weeks Pro site (10 pages + blog): 3–5 weeks Complex platform (e-commerce, custom features): 6–12 weeks AI agents and automations usually take 2–8 weeks depending on the integrations involved. You get a precise timeline in your quote. And a note on expectations: a solid build is like muscle. Nobody gets it after a week at the gym. Quality takes the time it takes.

Question 10

How do I follow the progress of my project?

Accepted Answer

In your client portal. You see every stage of the project, from discovery to launch, along with the current task and what's coming next. You get notified in the app and by email when something moves or needs your input. The portal also includes an AI project assistant that knows your project. Ask it where things stand at any hour, and the team picks up anything it can't answer.

Question 11

How do revisions and feedback work?

Accepted Answer

Our process includes structured feedback rounds at each milestone: design, development and pre-launch. Minor revisions are included. Major scope changes are quoted separately.

Question 12

What if I already have a design?

Accepted Answer

We can work from your Figma files or design system. We audit the design for feasibility and performance before starting development, and we'll flag anything that would hurt speed, accessibility or SEO.

Question 13

How much of my time will the project need?

Accepted Answer

Mostly at the start and at each milestone. Expect a scoping conversation, then feedback at the design, development and pre-launch stages. Between milestones we work on our own and keep you updated through the portal, so you don't need to chase anyone.

Question 14

What services do you offer?

Accepted Answer

We focus on the web and AI: Websites and web apps : showcase sites, e-commerce, platforms and portals Design and branding AI support agents for WhatsApp, web chat and email AI features inside your product : search, summarization, assistants Knowledge and document AI : answers grounded in your own documents Workflow automation Fractional CTO for founders who need technical leadership Details are on the services page .

Question 15

Do you build mobile apps?

Accepted Answer

No. We build for the web. A fast, responsive web app works on every phone without an app store, and for many projects it can be installed on the home screen as a progressive web app (PWA). If your project needs a native iOS or Android app, we'll tell you upfront.

Question 16

What technologies do you use?

Accepted Answer

We specialize in modern web technologies: Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS Backend: Node.js, Python, Go CMS: Sanity, custom solutions Animation: Framer Motion, GSAP Hosting: Vercel, AWS, self-managed We choose the right stack for each project based on your needs, team and long-term maintenance, not on what's trendy.

Question 17

Can you redesign my existing website?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can rebuild your current site with modern tech while preserving your SEO rankings and content. We start with an SEO audit and map every existing URL to its new address, so the traffic you've earned isn't lost.

Question 18

Is SEO included?

Accepted Answer

Every site we build comes with built-in SEO best practices: semantic HTML structure, optimized meta tags, fast loading speeds (Core Web Vitals), and mobile responsiveness. For more comprehensive SEO strategies, including keyword research, content optimization and link building, we offer dedicated SEO packages. Think of it as a three-legged stool: design, development and SEO. Two legs can look fine for a while, but the stool only stands with all three. That's why we build SEO in from day one.

Question 19

Do you provide hosting and domains?

Accepted Answer

We set up hosting on Vercel, AWS, or your preferred provider. We can also manage domains, SSL certificates and professional email as part of our maintenance plan.

Question 20

Does my business actually need AI?

Accepted Answer

Not always, and we'll tell you if it doesn't. AI pays off when there's a repetitive task involving language: answering the same customer questions, sorting requests, extracting data from documents, or searching internal knowledge. If a simple automation or a better website solves the problem, we'll recommend that instead. Our article on AI automation for small businesses lists the use cases that pay off fastest.

Question 21

Which languages can your AI agents handle?

Accepted Answer

English, French and Arabic, including messages that mix French and Tunisian darija, which is how many customers actually write. We test every agent on real conversations before launch.

Question 22

Is our data safe with AI?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your content stays in your infrastructure or in a private index, and we never train models on your data. We use model providers that don't train on your conversations, and agents only access the systems and permissions you approve.

Question 23

What does an AI agent cost to run each month?

Accepted Answer

Usually far less than people expect. We engineer for cost: the right model for each task, caching and routing. Most features run on pennies per thousand requests. You'll get an estimate of running costs alongside the build quote.

Question 24

What happens when the AI can't answer?

Accepted Answer

It hands over to your team with the full conversation history, so the customer never has to repeat themselves. The agent is built to say "I'll get a colleague" rather than invent an answer.

Question 25

What happens after launch?

Accepted Answer

Every project includes a 30-day post-launch warranty covering any bugs or issues. After that, you can opt into a monthly maintenance plan or self-manage with our documentation.

Question 26

Do you offer maintenance services?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer ongoing maintenance, monitoring and updates tailored to your stack: security patches, dependency updates, backups, uptime monitoring and small improvements. Every plan is quoted individually.

Question 27

Who owns the code and the website?

Accepted Answer

You do. Once the project is paid, the code, designs and content we produce for you are yours, and your domain and hosting accounts stay in your name. You're never locked in with us.

Question 28

Will you sign an NDA?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We sign NDAs and can accommodate your preferred data security practices. We treat your roadmap, data and metrics as your property.

Question 29

Where are you based?

Accepted Answer

In Bizerte, Tunisia. We work with clients across Tunisia and abroad. Most collaboration happens remotely through the client portal, video calls and messaging.

Question 30

Do you work with international clients?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. We work with clients worldwide, in English and French. Tunisia is on UTC+1 all year, the same as Paris and Berlin in winter and London in summer, so European clients get real-time collaboration during their working hours. For other time zones, we rely on flexible scheduling and asynchronous updates in the portal. More on this in our guide to outsourcing development to Tunisia .

Question 31

Why choose SILKDEV?

Accepted Answer

Four years of shipping, a 5.0 rating on Google, and a way of working you can see: a working AI on our homepage, and a portal where you watch your project move. We don't turn down projects for being unusual. If it can be done, we'll scope it with you and do it.
